We’re back with another week’s worth of shopping hacks, offers and bargains we think you’d be crazy to miss.
But enough about us. What about you? Found any good deals lately? Don’t keep them to yourself! Send us your top tip, and if it appears in next week’s Savvy Six you’ll get yourself a £20 Zeek Choice e-gift card, not to mention the adoration of your fellow savvy shoppers. Thorpe Park – Half-price annual ticket (via Planet Radio)
If you’re planning on taking the kids (or just you and your mates) to Thorpe Park this summer, it’s well worth checking out this half-price offer on annual tickets via Planet Radio. There are some date restrictions, so no weekend visits, but at just £25, it’s significantly cheaper than buying a day pass, and you can go as many times as you like for a whole year. Thanks to Savvy Tipster Bhavik Sanghavi for the heads-up. You’ve got a £20 Zeek Choice e-gift card winging its way to you!
Aldi – Specialbuys musical instrument collection
Aldi Specialbuys offers are always good for picking up an eye-popping bargain or two, and the musical instrument collection coming at the end of the month is no exception. With everything from recorders to full-size electronic keyboards going for a song, it’s a great opportunity to pick something up for kids’ musical lessons. Highlights include an electric guitar set at just £89.99, a ukulele priced at £15, and acoustic guitars starting at £34.99. Preorders start on 23rd August, with in-store pick-up from 30th August.
Lidl – “Too Good to Waste” mixed veggie boxes trial
We like this idea a lot. Highlighted by the Lidl Facebook page earlier this week, the Germany-based retailer is currently trialling sales of 5kg boxes of mixed vegetables that are “slightly damaged, but still perfectly good to eat”. You’ll need to be situated near one of the 122 branches carrying the offer, and it’s a lottery as to exactly what you’ll get, but at £1.50 per box, the value is undeniable.
Ryman – 24 AA/AAA batteries for £2.99
Plan ahead for the Christmas morning toy fest with this Deal of the Week offer from Ryman. Quote the discount code 1766 at the till to get a 24-pack of Energizer batteries (AA or AAA) for just £2.99 (usual price is £11.99). It’s a maximum of two per customer, and in-store only. Offer ends 19th August.
Sky – Premier League opening game free on Sky One
The World Cup has barely faded from memory but the opening of the new Premier League season is upon us. And not a second too soon, we say. If you’re as excited as we are for another season of high drama, but you don’t have a Sky Sports subscription, don’t worry. Sky is ready to get you in the mood (and just maybe jog you into signing up) by screening tonight’s opening game between Manchester United and Leicester City on Sky One HD. Catch it from 9pm, Friday 10th August.
HelloFresh – 55% off first two recipe boxes (via MyVoucherCodes)
Recipe boxes are not the most cost-conscious way to feed your family, we’ll readily admit. But they do have their upside. For one, there’s the convenience of having everything you need to make a meal delivered directly to your door. It also cuts down on waste, as you only get the precise amount of ingredients you need to make the recipe. If you’d like to give it a go, MyVoucherCodes has an exclusive offer for HelloFresh, entitling you to 55% off your first two recipe boxes.
We hope you found something among that little lot to keep you busy for another week. Don’t forget, you can get a bargain any time, any day with discounted gift cards from Zeek. Happy Shopping!
